Tip
of the Page:
Finish complete units, like
the dog or the fisherman, and then glue them gently together without
a backer, before you try to fit ajoining pieces. Each time you dry
assemble your project, to see how good your fit is, the pieces seem
to fit together in a slightly different way. This makes it difficult
to know where you should make adjustments to the fit.
By actually gluing them as a finished unit, their outline, ie. where
the dog touches the hunter, will no longer change. An extra backing
piece can be added to the whole unit if you decide it needs to be
thicker.
Worst case senario, you will
have to pry them back apart for final tweeking, but unless your
fit is perfect, this is rarely a tough job.
